We’ve always known it, but here’s the proof: The number on the label of your dress is totally meaningless. 

The Washington Post did some research into how women’s clothing sizes have changed over the years, and they found that in 1958, a size 8 had the same measurements as a size 00 today. Yes, really.

This definitely explains how Marilyn Monroe was a size 12 in the ’60s. But whether you’re a 2 or a 22, the number doesn’t matter—what’s important is that you love the look you’re rocking. Get after it!
