This Ethiopian Beauty Video Shows the True Diversity of Afro Hair

The Cut Video YouTube channel has made a name for itself by highlighting historical beauty trends in many different countries. The latest nation to get featured in the 100 Years series is Ethiopia. The short spot spotlights the diversity of Afro texture hair. In less than 80 seconds, the model transitions from cornrows to a bob and even sports sleek, straight strands. Some of the hair and makeup looks are similar to what we wore back in the day (remember gold Scrunchies in the’90s?). But it’s obvious, Ethiopia has it’s own original flavor—especially when it comes to that pink eye shadow moment from the ’80s. Review some of the looks covered by Cut Video ahead!

This cornrow style was popular in the 1910s, but you can rock this look in the 21st century, too!
